- Early Foundations: Dann Baker’s design career began with a lifelong drive to transform environments. His early penchant for restoring furniture and reconfiguring spaces evolved into a professional mission to help others experience their surroundings in new ways.
- Retail & Merchandising: As a Merchandising Manager for Kitchen Kaboodle, Dann developed a "customer-first" philosophy. His exposure to diverse materials and brands allowed him to refine the art of curating essential elements to "Make your House a Home."
- Lighting Expertise: Specializing in illumination, Dann earned his ALA Lighting Specialist certification while at Globe Lighting. This credential facilitated large-scale collaborations with contractors across the Pacific Northwest, focusing on spatial concepts, texture, and technical layout.
- Academic & Firm Experience: After earning his BFA in Interior Design from Marylhurst University, Dann joined the award-winning firm CorsoStaicoff, Inc. There, he contributed to high-profile projects in the hospitality, commercial, and residential sectors.
- Key Projects:
- Hospitality: Re-branding and design for Hotel Murano (Tacoma) and Hotel Modera (Portland).
- Commercial: New FFE programs for Umpqua Bank and the Shevlin Commons Club House (Bend).
- Dining: Barolo Ristorante (Seattle), Bite (Tacoma), and Pastini Pastaria (Bend/Corvallis).
- Residential: Penthouse units in Portland’s Elizabeth Building and luxury single-family homes in St. Louis.
- Collaborations & Mentorship: Dann has collaborated with the Jennifer Adams Design Group on diverse projects, including the Hillsboro Airport facilities. Committed to the design community, he also mentors BFA thesis students at Marylhurst University, guiding the next generation from concept to application.
